You miss the point. All laws are created with good intent and our knowledge has never caught up with the facts about various drugs...so the logic is to prevent problems by making them illegal. By historical fact, the Opium Wars of China showed how opium could devastate and enslave a nation because England liked to drink tea but had nothing else that China needed, so with opium...good addictive substance...created a market...and America got into the act as middle men with families such as the Delanos and the Rooseveldts making fortunes. During the Civil War in American, many soldiers became addicted to Morphine and such addiction was called "the soldiers' disease", and so on with Heroin and Cocaine...so because the marijuana plant is both euphoric and sporofic, it was outlawed. Even today, its use is debated in medical circles are being beneficial or harmless or dangerous. As a physician, I recognize that there are benefits to the use of marijuana for intractable cancers and various eye problems but whether it should be legalized as a recreational drug is a different matter. I further agree that by legalizing the plant, it would help reduce smuggling and the vast fortunes of many drug kings.

I think it started with Nixon's little..."war on drugs" they made a categorical chart for all drugs known and weed has been in and out of some of the ranks as long as it has gone on, since the war on drugs had the government all worred about every drug it has just been that way ever since, plus, it was a popular belief that weed was a gateway drug and that too, has since stuck. therefor, weed has since been "outlawed".

cause it wants to keep it in control, just like any other goods, simple economics, where there is demand, there is ALWAYS going to be supply, that way, the "big heads" can make as much loot asthey want from it ;)

I'm not scared of it. I dream of the day when it's legal and I can grow it on my back patio and pick it like I do my Apple tree.
Pot is fine by me....

I'm not afraid of it because I don't and won't use it .... because it can cause psychosis, paranoia, long term manic depression and schizophrenia - shall I go on?
