It seems like some storied NFL teams, the Raiders(favteam), Redskins, Cowboys, and 49ers always wear their home Uniforms when they play away games. Or most of the time, why is that?

it's the home teams decision to wear the uniforms that they want; not the road team.

For instance the Ravens wore their away uniforms because of the heat, and didn't wear their black uni's. The Raiders wore their black jerseys' instead. The Chiefs did the same thing against Cincy because of the heat too. Many teams do it against the teams with black home uni's because of the heat.

Black jerseys obviously absorb heat a lot more than white ones.

Some do it due to tradition though like Dallas, but most do it because of the temperature during the game.

Good question Silly Ray.

Good Question Silly Ray,

I am glad you ask.

For the Cowboys, the visiting shirts are their home uniform. Everytime there is a Dallas Cowboys game at their home turf, most of the time everyone wears the home shirts.

Sometimes, Washington Redskins, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles, and Carolina Panthers do wear their visiting shirts at home.

The home team decides whether they want to wear the visiting shirts or the home shirts.

Their colors will match the other teams home uniforms. The NFL want the larget gap between the likeness of the colors.
So the away team sometimes have to wear their home jersey.

the home team decides what uniform they will be wearing on any given day. Some time if a color is lucky the team will wear their away uniforms for home games.

I always thought that the white jerseys where reserve for away games. Some teams switch it up for whatever reason. The home teams does have a choice to which it wants to wear.

the Home team has the choice, every week if they will wear White or colored shirts. Visiting team must comply with wearing the opposite. So, technically, there is no home & away uniforms.

That is the way the home teams decide. Home team picks to wear home or away. So depending on weather or such the home team will pick to put the away team in their home uniforms.

The home team gets to choose first, forcing the other team to wear the alternate. Home teams often like to make the visitors where darker colors when it's hot out to bring on fatigue.

Maybe they forget where they are. The way the Raiders are playing this year it's obvious they have forgotten why they are.
