Hello

First..... Ultrasounds are rarely used early in pregnancy unless they are checking for something or uncertain you are even Pregnant.

You should also know if you are in your first 8 weeks of Pregnancy they usually use a Probe type device inserted into your vagina to do the ultra sound. At least with the older ultrra sounds.. I am not surrent on the new 3d machines.

Urine testing can not tell you how far along you are accurately either... Ultrasounds can make a better estimate but early on the most accurate way is to go from your date of your late missed period or if you are lucky enough to know ... when you actually conceived then that will do as well!

It is very common for Due dates to change as time goes along and the baby grows... they can get a better idea later in the pregnancy then they can now.

For my 1st child I had a Due date originally of April 20th.. then May 1st and she was born the 5th of May.

Just relax and make sure you are comfortable with your doctors and you ask questions to them any time you have them.
A good prenatal physician should be happy to answer ALL of your questions! There are no silly or Stupid Questions! Dont be embarrased and ask.

Good Luck

I am no expert. Urine tests are based on pregnancy hormones. Ultrasounds are based on the size of the baby. I would talk to my doctor. The ultrasound looks at the size of the baby's head and the size of his or her limbs, and the spinal cord. I had a urine test and it said I was not pregnant. Luckily, I did not take the medicine that they gave me because I was pregnant. Another time I took three pregnancy tests. All three said I was pregnant and I was. I would trust my doctor and the ultrasound first.

the ultrasound is more accurate. They can tell more then a pee test. Go by what your doctor tells you from the ultrasound.

The ultrasound can measure the baby and give you a better accurate time of how far along you are.
