Good question. About the only thing we're sure of is that Lee Harvey Oswald DIDN'T kill JFK. Nitrate tests showed that he didn't fire a weapon that day, and the fatal shot that killed JFK is inconsistent with a 6.5mm ball round striking his head from the rear. Over 15 witnesses on Dealey Plaza said they saw the back of JFK's head blasted out, as did the attending ER doctor at Parklane Memorial Hospital. They even have reconstituted photos that show a man in a police uniform standing behind the fence on the grassy knoll who appears to be aiming a rifle at the Presidential motorcade. No question conspiracy was involved.
Who actually was responsible? Barr McClellan, who used to be legal counsel for Lyndon Johnson, claims LBJ ordered the hit because he was under investigation for a number of dirty deals and used the assassination to get the heat off. Others claim that it was a team effort between the Secret Service, the State Department, and the Department of Defense because of Kennedy's stance on the Vietnam Conflict. Still others claim it was a mob hit because both JFK and his younger brother made a bunch of bad enemies after letting Cuba fall into the hands of Fidel Castro. Who's right? The world may never know...

Little known fact: he was shot 123 times from 17 different angles, simultaneously by at least 24 government agencies, then John Gotti and the mafia covered it up.
It is suspected that Elvis Presley was the true mastermind behind the operation ( codename: "Fall Guy"), which is why the aliens abducted him.
My cousin's half-brother's grandfather's great nephew was in the CIA, he saw it on TV and told me about it, so I know it's true!!

People have been asking that for years, and with all of the theories out there, we still haven't found out.
I don't believe it was Lee Harvey Oswald. I think he was the fall-guy for the real person(s) who did it.

The funny thing about the JFK conspiracy is that every one has their own theory and version of events. It has literaly become a choose your own adventure of different stories, happenings and so on. I think that even if someone KNEW (deathbed confession of the killer, et cetera) no one would believe them....
