You need to sit down with the lead singer and a keyboard (preferably piano) player who understands harmony. You need to see the notes as well as hear them. You need to train your voice to be in harmony with the lead singer and on key with the piano. It's really simple. The lead singer is singing one note and you are either a third above or below (usually). Sitting down with the piano is essential. Either that or an acoustic guitar. You need to hit the notes perfectly on pitch....you especially...the lead has more carte blanche.

To learn quickly how to sing I suggest to follow a good online course. here is the best course that I did :
http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=541
I can help you with jus some advidce but anyway I reccomend to follow that course. I think that singing is an inbuilt part of the human mind and soul. For countless years the act of singing has been at the forefront of art, religion, social changes and of course love. We all have a desire to let flow with a burst of air and noise that lifts the soul and transports an emotive message be it from the screaming energetic rock anthem to the operatic tones of more studied precise singers. We are not all born with a natural talent though but with practice anyone can take their instinctual desire to sing and become very good at it. Here are some tips for a better singing voice that can help you professionally, at the karaoke bar or even in the shower for your own enjoyment! One mistake many singers make is to hold their breath while singing instead of letting the air flow through them. If you hold your breath tight you can never achieve a natural sound nor will you be able to achieve any great volume and it makes hitting the right tone harder as well. To combat this you must learn diaphragmatic breathing. This means you must breathe in to the lower part of your lungs by breathing deep and not shallow. This is not the same as belly breathing but should press out on your lower ribcage as you breathe in. There are many breathing exercises you can learn to help you achieve this such as lying down and placing a hand on the upper chest and a hand on the lower chest under the ribcage. When you breathe in the hand on the upper chest should not move and the hand on the lower chest should go up and down. Mirrors are great devices to help you improve your singing voice. By singing in front of a mirror you can watch your posture, your facial contortions and your breathing and determine what is and is not working. Try changing your posture and the way you use your face and mouth when you sing in front of a mirror and listen to the different sounds you make as you experiment. You will be surprised what straightening your back or opening your mouth wider can do to your voice once you see these things in the mirror.
I hope that the website I suggested could help you!

These days you can easily learn how to sing on the web . You can find here the best online singing video lessons:
http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=541
The videos are very easy to follow and to my surprise extremely helpful even for advanced singers. For beginners I would have to say this is a gold mine. I was able to improve my singing, voice tone and range in just under two weeks and I am an advanced musician... Before I wanted to go to a singing teacher but that would have cost me over 1500 bucks .... every month! It's definitely too much for my possibilities! An online course is much cheaper, and I reached great results in a very short time! I strogly reccomend it to anyone that want to improve his/her singing skills and voice tune! I Hope it helps!

in case you want to sing "for actual", then confident, sorry, it oftentimes won't artwork in case you're no longer endowed with "the present". making a music could no longer be something you are able to teach or study. recommendations can study, however the underlying voice and skill ought to preexist or the recommendations won't do a element. that's like attempting to place gloves on a guy with out palms. however the stable information is that no longer all singers extremely ought to "sing". Rob Zombie on no account sang an afternoon in his existence earlier he have been given the belief to variety White Zombie, and seem how helpful he's been. because of the fact he could no longer be making a music, in simple terms speaking humorous, and it works! loss of existence steel growlers - no making a music there the two, and that they are rolling interior the dough. Trent Reznor - undesirable singer, yet his instrumentation and equipment pull him via... confident, there are particular recommendations for "screamers"; there is the thank you to do it precise to get the final sound and evade vocal twine harm... Many making a music instructors are properly-conscious of "determination" technique. you in user-friendly terms ought to go searching; they may well be indexed on craigslist or on the interior reach guitar keep or someplace alongside those lines.

If you want to know a very good vocal coach try to visit https://tr.im/dyGsr an online vocal coaching tutorial. Everything, ranging from breathing fundamentals, vocalizing exercises, techniques on singing high and low notes, how to not go off-key/out of tune/off-sync, musicianship and music theory, proper diction and articulation, and a lot more are covered, all in our native language. It can be quite technical in nature, but it really helps since it covers the musical aspect of singing deeply and not just concentrates on how to impress people with your vocal range, riffs and runs and other cliches that do not necessarily make one a complete vocalist.

I'm not being sarky - but I think the secret is being able to sing.
But truthfully, I've no idea since I can't sing to save my life.
