SOmetimes....People that get EBT cards sell them for cash, so the person buying stuff on the card may not be the person who actually receives food assistance. Also, single women with children are the largest group of people who receive food stamps and they may have boyfreinds who drive a Lexus or Hummers.

I hate that people take advantage. I am on food stamps. I hope to be off in the next 6 months. I drive a crappy van. If it breaks down we will be walking everywhere. What really irritates me is people who live with their significant other and because they are technically a single mom they get all the benefits.

Yes, because if they can afford to drive fancy car, then they don't need the food stamps!!! Let someone who really needs them, receive them! If they had that kind of car before they went onto food stamps, then they should sell it, and get a cheaper one!! Makes it look as if you are deceiving the U.S. government!

You best believe that bothers me! I work hard, I bust my ***, and I don't mooch off the sysytem and I sure as heck don't drive a Lexxus or Hummer. Oh, that burns me up!

No, because there are many reasons for a person to need food stamps and they should'nt be judge based on what they drive . Maybe that person had the car before the need of food stamps.

Yes I use to work in the office of a daycare center and we accepted NCI which pays for daycare for those who can not afford it. We had one lady who had 5 kids. They had 2 cars, her husband was an anaesthesiologist and they had nice clothes and jewelry. When I say they drove two cars I mean like brand new cars. It use to bug the crap out of me. I heard a few years ago that they actually got caught for fraud.

I didn't see too much of that when I worked at a store. But I did see them buy more expensive food than others who pay with their actual money.

I don't work in retail but it does bother me when they can afford to drive a better car than I do while working 2 jobs to pay my bills! =p

Why would that bother you?When I was younger I had a relative that fell on hard times and had to claim bankrputcy,and she owned a nice car.Don't judge people untill you know their story.

yes, because they are stealing from people that really need the help. they are probably drug dealers anyway
