If you have a lot of broken capillaries and a rash-like look, perhaps with some small white-heads between your nose base and cheeks, you may have roscea. There are medications you can get, I've never tried them because I hate medications and don't trust them. After all, this is not life-threatening! You can try some eye redness removal product like visine and see if that lightens things up. An under- base crayon in green goes on first, then a concealer product second, followed by a good foundation on top. Believe it or not, you can actually get all of this to work beautifully in about 3 minutes every day once you get the hang of it. Green eliminates red! For dark circles, use yellow. There is a line of product you can get in Macy's but also on line. These were originally developed for burn victims and these concealers and foundations can cover anything! Yes, they can be a little thick, especially the concealer, but if you put a dab on on finger and warm it up by rubbing it in a circle, it will get creamier and easy to use. These products are called Dermablend. If your problem is not real bad, you won't need much concealer anyway and maybe you could then use a more lightweight foundation. Estee Lauder makes one that is much lighter, yet covers completely. The biggest challenge is finding a decent green crayon. The make up counters will send you to the one that sells the asian-based cosmetics, but I found it didn't work well. It is a shimmering thing and you need a cream. I haven't found a truly good one since Lancome stopped carrying it! I'm going to check out the Channel counter. I'll bet they have it. Also, check out the mineral makeups. You will still need the green and/or Dermablend, though, no matter what they say. I like the mineral make ups and found one company who actually made a liquid one which is fantastic. It is called glominerals and is out of Denmark. I'm going to try to find them on line for myself - I'm all out!
