I took a different route for my morning run and saw a sticker in a window that said:

"This Property Protected By A Radio Shack Alarm System"

At first I thought it was a joke ... I mean ADT, TheftNet and Thawrt are the big name security companies. I'm just wondering, when people are out driving around looking for a place to break into, would they really consider a Radio Shack alarm system a real threat?

Maybe it's hooked up to a Randy Dandy Tandy system ...

Some guys around here just got caught after ROBBING a Radio Shack near here. They didn't get caught because of any Alarm System, but because one of the guys dropped some mail he had in his pocket. SO...... if Radio Shack can't even PROTECT a RADIO SHACK, I'd most likely start laughing at such a sign.

IF i were a robber, i would be smart and sly. i would learn about all of the different types of alarms there are. those kind of alarms purchased at department stores are usually just magnetized devices. you can probably just tear the whole unit off the wall. i am protected by ADT and i wouldn't trust a cheap alarm to save my life. the only thing that those alarms are really good for is an amateur burglar or punk kids. those alarms are mainly to scare someone, they have high pitched beeps that will get someones attention. so if i knew someone wasn't home and they had a 'radioshack' alarm then I'd probably bust in. HYPOTHETICALLY speaking.

Wow. Radio Shack has a security system now. My little brothers remote contral car from radio shack worked for about 2 seconds before it broke. I would not trust radio shack with my safety.

That does sound funny! I guess it could be a good system. They do sell some nice products. I wouldn't use any of the alarm systems. I prefer my dogs and "Beware of Dogs" sign. They have the best response time.

No I wouldnt be scared as a robber, because ROBBERY is when you steal from a person, and BURGARLY is stealing from a piece of real estate. When I went to commit robbery on a person, where do you think they would have the sticker? On their forehead? But I doubt you would understand my longer answer. You should run your words through a dictionary before trying them on a public forum. Luser

i think those stickers are more for advertisement. if i had an alarm system for my house, i wouldn't rely on a sticker to ensure people wouldn't break into my house. as far as i'm concerned, if anyone is stupid enough to break into my house, they have what's coming to them. screw ADT and Radio Shack.
