Try keeping a journal of your food intake and exercise. It's easy to keep a food journal, with the nutrition labels on most foods. There is a web site called Calorieking.com that has many, many foods listed. Count everything!! Licks, tastes and nibbles all count. You may be taking in more calories than you realize!

Try picking foods that are nutritionally dense, as in .. more nutrition for your calories. The less processed they are, the better. Increase your fiber intake too, most people don't eat enough fiber. If you can handle it, drink skim milk - unless it's an issue with you - your bones need it!

Increase your exercise, walking is the best! If it's boring for you, find a buddy or start a walking group with your neighbours, it's safer and you boost each other's spirits.

A bit of light weight training is good too, get help from a trainer for starting a simple program.

For your flexibility, yoga is lovely, as is tai chi - even the VERY elderly can do some tai chi while sitting in a chair!

hmmm .. one more thought .. you may be pregnant? hee hee .. check to be sure!! ;-)

I'm going through the same. I've put on 2 stone! Put myself on a really strict diet last week and have lost 4 pounds so far. I only allow myself 1 cup of coffee in the morning then drink water for the rest of the day. Good luck it sucks I know.

Visit the Doctors - sorry but he might put you on a diet (don't mean to sound horrible). Get things checked out and discuss your worries with them - they will have seen this loads of times before. Keep healthy and active and you'll feel better in yourself. Good luck.
