I am off on my honeymoon 9or rather we are!!) on Monday following our wedding next Saturday.
We are staying at the Vila de Santa Cruz just outside Funchal. Just wondered if there was any good attractions, sightseeing, etc nearby that we may not have found out about in our hotel guide.

there is a decent casino there (I went twice, lost about £100 the first time, won about £200 the second time), something different if you don't usually gamble

You could eat some of their cake. I thinks it a bit of a boring place, full of retired dudes so Ive heard. You should have gone to Italy for sightseeing.

Visit Curral das Freiras (sp?)
Eat Espada fish with banana sauce (delicious).
