An analogy is considered as a most unreliable method in logic. For example, if Socrates is a man and Socrates is also a rational being then man is a rational being? But each man may or may not be rational. Rational applies to the case of Socrates only.
Science doesnot believes in analogies. It always looks for demonstrable proof.

each person has his own perception of God - works for even those who do not believe in God.
Some try to explain God by analogy. It is easy to understand god as a human being like us with the super powers necessary to create us and help us. And for most people it works.
The problem is that it could be misleading, since nobody has seen God and therefore it cannot be said as true.
I think God is everywhere and in every detail and is bigger than our universe because he is GOD. Most of us desire to cherish the life he has given to us and all other beings through such desires he enacts his will through us.

There is no way to understand the origin or nature of the divine.. the reason being is because it is beyond us(mortals) the best way is to read what he has left to follow him by(the bible), and to this atheist who denies gods existence obviously hasnt set onset on this belief for good reason.. God does exist, deny him through science and philsophy, the pain of living and experience but there is an overpowering enitity watching over us, whatever your religion, be it the Buddha, the prophet Muhammad, or god Jehova there is omniscent beings watching over us.. Wars have been faught, past present and future, to deny this beings existence would be as incompetent as it would stupid.. Read the signs, too many scientists themselves have realized the is all to big for coincendence and mere nature to make for itself.. Those of you who deny him are more lost than you ever will.. Human thought may condradict such endeavors and that is why you are led astray, because you read the word of man, not of god..

Analogy? To reason from parallel cases? So, to understand 'God' we compare for example Christianity and Muslim faiths and in that comparison draw conclusions of the nature of 'God'? Maybe.

Analogy is restricted to logical analysis of what is perceived through sense organs.
The nature of God is so subtle that it requires a perception level that transcends much deeper than sense organs.
This is precisely why so much baseless discussions, speculations, mis-match of ideas , debates persist about the nature and existence of God !

I think that's the only way of interpreting god, or anything else in this life. I've noticed that so much of the way we look at and portray experiences and knowledge is symbolic. I'm not always sure of what. So that leads me to believe that we live our lives in symbolism. Down to the seemingly smallest detail. Death, I think is another, very feared symbolic experience. If we could overcome that, we would be 'enlightened'.

I think that's quite obvious. Because the best way of explaining something to people who haven't percieved that something before, is through analogy.

No. Analogy isn't rational, it draws conclusions from assumptions.
