okay sex toys...... you're being intimate with your partner (male or female) and you've both decided to be a little adventourous, and suddenly you find yourself using a piece of plastic which looks like it was won at the penny slot machines in a fairground!

why are they such horrible bright colours, nasty shapes, made from cheap materials and poor construction!

and why are some in the shape of dolphins and rabbits etc... whats wrong with the world! is it me or are the majority just not sexy?

i'd just like to add, i ended up buying myla's "the bone" which is a £200 piece of art and really really works, i know there are good ones out there... but its just that the majority are so tacky.

Most sex toys are badly designed because they are cheap to make and they know people will still buy them. People buy cheap toys simply because they may use it once or twice and then get rid of it out of fear that their child or someone they respect would discover it. Its very hard to justify the expense of a $200 item that you will have to throw away. I think that people also refuse to buy expensive toys because if anyone else thinks like I do, they would say, "If I am going to pay $400 for this item, I must really be sick!"

As far as the animal shapes, thats just a way of keeping everything discreet. When I was kid, my aunt had an item shaped like a teddy bear that she kept on the top shelf in her room.. somehow I could not help thinking that this "toy" was not a toy for kids but I just couldnt figure it out what was wrong with this picture.

There are a lot of sex toys that are not sexy, but if you use a lot of various toys, you will learn there are luxury brand names in the sex toys industry as well! If you want toys search for toys in the brand of Toynary, LELO, FUN FACTORY. I can recommend you specifics if you want to know more. But yes alof of the toys look cheap because you don't know how to shop. I use to feel the same until I have discovered the designer brands in sex toys. Go to Love2Play.com.au and you will be able to pick up the designer v the not designer brand poorly on price.

True story.
Twenty five years ago I met a very attractive women while sharing a table in a resturant in Manhatten,NY. We talked, drank and immediately developed a much more personnel relationship that hinged on my willingness to share a bed with her live in lover.
Are you kidding? I mean, are you kidding?
Thank you God.
Her girlfriend pulls out, (out of an assortment of her toys, many of exceptional quality) a thick, about eight inch, black, strap on (latex or rubber?) dildo she said she bought, with some of the others, (I forget where exactly, but) somewhere, in any one of an assortment of sex shops in Europe. She vaugely remembered paying around twenty American dollars(expensive twenty-five years ago) It was so real looking my just touching it, as a man, was intimidating.
Use your imaginations as to it's use.
It, by the way could, by removel of a plug, be worn by either a man or women.
Best four, most fun, dates I ever had.
But this is about sex toys.
After I married I searched everywhere for years to find anything like it and try as I might I couldn't find anything. Everything and anything was crap. and here's why I answered this in the first place.
Four years after I'd last dated them. Actually their interest in me waned. Anyway, by sheer accident I ran into one of the two women and asked if she would sell me, that very same strap on dildo. The quality of it was just so much better than anything I've ever come across here. She hesitated until I told her I'd give her crazy money for it and reluctanly she agreed.
My multi-orgasmic wife loved, and even at times depended on it's totally realisic looks and feel.
Three years later my house get's robbed.
Gone, all gone... A small amount of money, a lot of jewelry, 2 very good fur coats and of all things, the irreplaceable dildo.
We miss the dildo.
And it's certainly not exclusive to sex toys. The real question is.....
Why is it just about everything we do here is crap?

Sex toys that feel the most like the real thing are made out of a material called "cyber skin". You would recognize it because if the product is packaged, it would have a cut out and a "feel here" sticker or arrow. Well they do them in just about every size shape and colour and material imaginable so you should be able to get one that suits you! I do agree that small animal faces are a little off putting when trying to achieve an orgasm but once you get into the whole thing its all good and just spend a little more time shopping for one next time, to find one that you and your partner both enjoy!

I think they where all designed by really old porn stars, you ever notice those colours kinda look like something from a 1970's acid trip. Besides they can do anything they want, I mean even if they are defective your not gonna sue. Who wants to walk into a court room and introduce a vibrating neon b u t t plug as their evidence!
Hell I'm still wondering who had the balls to take it to the patent office.

People who design the sex toys cater to people who range from being modestly curious to people who are outright freaks, lol. There are some companies that try to sell decent products such as Adam & Eve, but basically you get what you pay for.

If you are tired of 'those' toys, check out the stuff that they advertise at the AVN stores. You are going to pay more but you will never have to worry about the batteries popping out of them at the wrong moment in time. Most of the adult book stores sell the mid level stuff; they are loud, don't really work to stimulate the right areas and have the worst choice in colors. If you want something that is considered art as well as toy, look for the Pyrex glass ones; these start at about $100.00 but they are sooooo worth it. I have one and leave it on the wall unit in the livingroom, right there in plain view and have to laugh when people see it, pick it up and say, "Wow, this is really interesting, what is it?" I don't have the heart to tell them what it really is.

It's more of a novelty than anything else but I won't say that it's never been used!

I really don't think a lot of the makers have any idea of what is hionestly involved in a quality sex toy, so you have these neon or gassy colors or bizarre shapes

Sorry to answer a question with a question but how would you design them to be sexy? There's a HUGE market of different toys out there. Surely one of them must have what you're after :o)
