Yeah, i'm bored at work......

But seriously, my fave part of London is London Bridge. When i first moved here i lived on one side and worked on the other so i would walk across the bridge every morning and evening. to me, that is "london".

What's yours?

Without a doubt, THE best place in London as far as I am concerned, is and will always be, Hyde Park. Hyde Park is a wonderfully peaceful haven in the middle of one of the busiest cities in the world. Once inside the park gates you are instantly transported from the noise and bustle of traffic to the peace and fresh air and beauty that is Hyde Park. You can visit it in the height of summer and the place will be thronged with masses of people sitting on deck chairs and lying on blankets catching some sun while Arab children play a game of football and cyclist and roller-bladers show off their skills. You can enjoy the true treasure of London that is the sun setting over the Serpentine. You can visit the Serpentine gallery and catch whatever exhibition is currently on or visit the waterside cafes and enjoy food in the fresh air. Alternatively, you may prefer, as I do, to visit the park in the cold of winter and be struck by the beauty of the mist coming over the round pond and the fog covering the view of Kensington Palace. As you walk you will hear a multitude of different voices and even more languages. You can visit the stables and explore the park on horseback. This isn't something I have done but I can't believe the experience would be anything short of wonderful. Hyde park is simply a fantastic place. Whether you are enjoying a quick twenty minutes on your lunch break or you are having a romantic dusk walk with your loved one or you are simply lying down and taking it all in, there is no better place in London.

Covent Garden and The Royal Opera House and Borough Market.

Along the Thames Path from Tate Modern via More London to Shad Thames. My first job in London was near Southwark Cathedral, so I am attached to this part of London.

I've got a top 3;
1) UCL, the main quad - an absolutely stunning, gorgeous place full of character
2) The Beatles Exhibition in the British Library - you can see some of the original song lyrics, just the way they were written
3) Hyde Park - I've been to a few incredible concerts there, and the whole place always brings back good memories

Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square, it seems to lead to everywhere and it also appears to only be 10 minutes away from most places.

Its 5 minutes from the red carpet premiers in Leicester Square. 10 minutes from Embankment and the Thames with the river cruises, and bridges and wheel and entertainment etc.

Theatres are nearby and shopping is close and its a good place for transport in all directions.

Its also a great place for people watching and has a couple of cool clubs like red cube...if its still called that!

The South Bank of the Thames, from Southwark Cathedral to County Hall. I was born near London Bridge, so this is 'home' to me!

Mine was an area that I couldn't find if I were there. We went on a walking tour immediately after getting off of the plane because the tour director thought it would help us overcome jetlag (the flight(s) lasted 24 hours!!!). It was what he called backstreets, but I loved it. As we were looking at a statue of Robert Burns it started to snow. It was wonderful. Then we walked up some gorgeous backstreets up to Covent Garden. That was the best, whereever that was!!!

Columbia Road. It is a flower market on Sunday mornings selling hundreds of plants and flowers at cost price. It has incredible ambiance with coffee shops, ceramic shops, artsy fartsy shops, music quartets and even a photographic gallery.
