I know I'd get some the answers I got. Thanks for the answers, though. but fair warning: Think about what you're gonna say and answer maturely. Don't answer just to get your points up. Thank you

I think that first, we all cannot mind our own business! We will at one point or another take an unusual interest in another persons life, it is just the degree that varies. Lets just call it human nature.

But some are extreme, and these are the ones complained of. Well, they are usually this way because they are idle and have a fundamental character flaw that drives them towards the tendancy to gossip.

Best ignore them. They will soon find someone else to talk about.

I have often wondered about this same problem. Some people just don't have a life of their own, so they have to get involved in everyone else's. Some people are just compulsive gossips who talk about everyone all the time. The worst people are huge control freaks who have to run everyone else's lives and cause lots of drama. I usually try to avoid all forms of drama whenever possible, including people who can't mind their own business. Unfortunately, this just tends to p*ss the busybodies off that much more. It totally sucks!!!

Because as a society, we have been trained not to. We are supposed to call the police if we see or hear anything suspicious. For example, if you live in an apartment, and the guy next door is obviously beating his wife, with lots of screaming, glass smashing, banging etc. You should get involved and call the police to protect her. If you are aware of child abuse happening should you report it? etc.

Because it makes their problems not seem so big. They like drama, especially someone elses. People love it when they see other people hurt, sad, or depressed. It makes people feel good about themselves.
