I personally like USC again.. but they gave all this hype to Brady Quinn... and they barely beat GT, and they beat that other team
(where they even ranked?), and they lost to Michigan U and Quinn had a bad game.. overrated or just unlucky

The answer to your question was last years Fiesta Bowl, when OSU made Quinn and Norte Dame look weak. The TV deal, the lack of quality compitition, yeah they are overrated. USC will smoke them this year, they might make the top 20.

The Irish are over rated most every year. It's all about the money. Norte Dame has a broad fan base across the country as they are not a member of a regional conference & they have a sweetheart TV deal with NBC that is apart from the NCCA network deals. TV ratings (and advertising revenue) will always be higher if Notre Dame is ranked.

The Farting Amish are always overrated, as is the team you couldn't remember (Penn State). Now, of course, Michigan will be overrated (as they are every year anyway) because they beat an overrated Notre Dame who beat an overrated Penn State team.

Overrated-people were starting to hype on how good their defense was(in addition to how "great" Brady Quinn is) and lookey here.........Michigan hangs 47 on them. Sorry, but championship teams don't give up 47 points. Notre Dame is just hype. Nothing more.

Unlucky would be losing on a fluke, like a tipped pass in the final moments to lead to a last second score. They got hammered throughout the entire game. I don't believe they are much improved over the team they were last year, so yes, they were overrated.
BTW - the other team they beat was Penn St, who was, at the time, ranked 19th
