With Kevin Harvick a shoe in for the busch and leading the the cup right now got me thinking if anyone has ever won both the same year.

No............................In fact, Bobby Labonte is the only driver to win both titles (Busch in 1991, Cup in 2000)

To Slim Hick - To discount what Harvick has done this season on a report of him doing something that isn't even illegal, and where this is the first instance of it is ludicris. Don't forget this is his 4th win of the season. Also, the only other tracks they will run where this could come into play are Phoenix (too risky, the speeds would be higher) and Martinsville. Everything else is a high banked oval or has high speeds, or both.
Nobody has every won both in the same year. Like people said, Bobby Labonte has won both seires titles in different years. Harvick has won the Busch Series title and Winston Cup Rookie of the Year in the same year (2001).
Harvick has a real shot at the first. He could get 2 or 3 more wins in the Chase, and will continue his hot streak for the foreseeable future.

Has not happened yet. I have my finger crossed that Kevin does it this year. I have been a Harvick fan since 2000 when he broke in the the Bush series. GO KEVIN!

noone has ever wonr them in the same years. kevin harvick, who will obviously win the busch series this year.. has a lot of potential to win the cup series. it would be great to see him do this!!
bobby won of course in 91 for the busch and 2000 for the cup.

nope but Harvick can this year...he has the Busch title all but locked up...he could win the Nextel cup also
