Hi, I have a desktop in one room and a printer in another room. I need to wirelessly print from my desktop to the printer. I cant bring the printer into the room with the desktop because the fax connection is in the room with the printer. I have a HP Officejet 6110 All-In-One. Is there a way that I can do this? I have a wireless router connected to my desktop for my laptop(just thought i would let you know that since it may play a role in the setup). Please let me know and thank you for taking the time to look at my question.

i looked up the printer online i dont think that is networkable model
not as a stand alone. it would have to be attached to a pc and networked that way or youll have to move the computer to where the printer is.

is the printer hooked up to another computer in that other room? if so, you can connect through the network. if not, try connecting the printer to the router. either way, you should be able to search for printers on your network and it should find it. then you can add it as your default printer.

there are two ways to do this...

1) get a wireless print server (most straight forward).
2) "Share" your printer - ypuo have the printer connected to your laptop, and from therer, share it - the onyl drawbacks being that the laptop has to be powered on and physically connected to the printer.

hope this helps

Your best choice would be to get an HP Jetdirect ew2400 wireless print server. But don't take my word for it, ask HP. Your OJ 6110 is obsolete according to HP. It many not be able to support wireless hookup.

The replacement for it is the OJ 6210 but you will still need the ew2400 for wireless printing.
