Hurricane season officially ends Nov.30, however it would be unlikely for you to see any Tropical Storm activity in the beginning of November. It is normal that time of year to get an afternoon rain, but you will see sunshine every day. The last Tropical Storm recieved in Negril was by the backlash of Hurricane Wilma last Oct. 15th. It developed 125miles south of Negril, and stalled while it developed. Negril got alot of rain for 6 days, but no wind. After it developed and was by the yucatan penninsula, it brought monsterous waves behind it, crashing into Negril.
With an El Nino forming, hurricanes should not be a factor in Jamaica this year, especially in November.

I'd say chances are 50/50 because it can not hit Jamaica as it's getting closer to the end of hurricane season which is November 30, but then it can hit unexpectedly. Hurricane season are from June 'til the end of November 30 -- so always look out, if you plan on going on a trip to Jamaica, I'd suggest go when there's no hurricane season. But if you want to go anytime during that, I'd suggest looking at the forecast on T.V., or on the Internet, just to be safe.

Hurricane season in the Caribbean doesn't end until December. My wife's best friend got married in late October last year and went to Jamaica on her honeymoon. It got hit by a hurricane two days later. Fortunately, it just blew some beach furniture around, so it only took them about half a day to clean up, but November is still risky.

I would say the chances are few, but I would never rule it out. November is later in the season and most of the hurricanes that would occur in time period tend to (not always) form in a position that would not let them affect Jamaica.

The Hurricane season covers adverse weather patterns that originate in tropical depressions off the coast of Africa. Some escalate into hurricanes. Their paths are mapped and advisories are posted frequently. That is nature's way of cooling off the earth and bringing seasonal rains to some of the areas that have no mountains to attract rain. Just click on any weather channel and they will give you updates. All of the major search engines web pages and the major news networks have weather sections. The season is usually from September to early November. The dates of the seasons fluctuate.
