if I am considered due to political difference a 'possible' enemy combatant (loose definition) is it really a new law that I no longer have rights and you and I can be detained indefinitely against our will, without rights, against bill of rights, and my family cannot find out where I am held, etc? How does this not go against the Constitution, and who is pushing for laws to change this, or what I consider to be anti-American?

I assume by "here" you mean the U.S. I live in Canada, and even here a law has been created to make it possible to hold someone for an indefinite period without charge or disclosure. That means people can disappear. The Bush administration made this law shortly after 9/11. I'm glad you are aware and I ask you to please do whatever YOU can to change it. Don't wait for someone else to get it done. You still live in a democracy, though it seems to be crumbling. Fight for your country, please.

As stated by the previous poster you can be held without charges for 72 hours. To be held longer, you would have to be considered a non military "combatant". The legality of holding enemy non combatants is still being considered by the courts.

My question to you is this, why would you put yourself in a position to be caught up with Al Queda?

i do not recognize the tax rules in San Fransisco, yet when the church owns the money, then they might want to pay it and under no circumstances attempt to weasel out of it. The "second of silence" develop right into a thinly veiled attempt to push prayer into the college and everyone knew it. this is sturdy they banned it because it develop into unlawful. The UN decision you cite is terrible, and develop into (from my recognize-how) pushed by by employing countries with good Muslim backgrounds even as no individual develop into searching. for my section i'm satisfied there is finally some backlash hostile to the oppressive approaches the non secular majorities were passing into regulation for years now.
