Blown up? Have you ever been through a Category 3 or higher Hurricane? If you have than you will know that yes they were blown up, by 150 mile an hour winds which produced storm surge into the upwards of 20 feet. Lake Ponchatrain is basically a spillway for the Mississippi, with it's deepest point being only 30 feet in places. I have traveled over this body of water a lot going from northern LA to New Orleans and can see what that type of surge could do this body of water, causing it to break the levy's that were not meant to withstand anything stronger than a cat 3 storm. Quit looking for conspiracy theories. Until you've ridden the storm out, you will never know the mighty force behind these powerful creatures. Survior of Hurricane Ivan 2004, Pensacola Beach Florida.

I believe that they were blown up. I don't know if it was racism as much as it was an issue of urban gentrification. The government has declared that the residents must either gut out their house, tear it down, or rebuild by the end of September. Otherwise the government will repossess it through eminent domain. Yet most of these people cannot get permits because they are still on the waiting list.

For the slow people? I read your last question. Not much thought went into that one. No, the levees were not blown up.

No, the just collasped is the way I uderstand it from the pressure of the rushing water and they were a little stressed to begin with so that didn't help them hold back the water.

they were an underfunded time bomb already, just a matter of time
some say a barge rammed one of them, according to eyewitnesses
the point is it happened and we should be busy fixing what we know to be broke now as well, as much as I want to fault find we still have plenty of things to fix in our own lives and in our governmen't...mainly allowing politicians to present legislation that represents corporate America and do not represent "we the people" unless we hold them to task

No, they are still being fixed. The 17st street one has been patched and rebuilt. The Core of Engineers is still working on this. I live in NO. And one of our friends works for CORE
