Men still have the advantages in this world; perhaps even moreso now, as woman don't realize how far they still have to go for gender equality. Consider the most recent EMMY awards, when virtually every writing and directing nominee was. . . a man. Most CEOs are still men. Consider that most of the famous chefs--or non-famous chefs working at quality restaurants--are men. Consider that we have little understanding of how various diseases are different in woman than in men because most of the research has been geared towards treating men. And men do not bleed once a month. They do not carry the burden of childbirth. Their cancers (testicular, prostate) are detected earlier and more easily treated than women's. Men still make more money for the same work and still hold a majority of government positions. Men are less likely to contract AIDS from an HIV positive woman than a woman is from a positive man.

Since this section is on "homework help" I'm assuming you are talking about boys or girls having it better in school. Statistically, boys perform better on tests; however, they currently are suffering grade-wise and the percentage of boys pursuing a college degree is diminishing while the percentage of girls is (you guessed it) increasing. That's good news for guys entering college; however, it's bad news for guys as a whole.

I think boys are encouraged to take risks and pursue knowledge in an exploratory fashion, which may explain their ability to manipulate tests. However, this learning style may not work in a regular classroom setting, at least not as well as it does for girls. Girls are encouraged to work hard and please others (I'm not speaking for every girl, I'm just describing statistics), which bodes well in most classrooms.

It sounds like we need to evaluate our educational system and how it is failing males. It's great that females are doing well; however, we need more balance as this phenomena is becoming a serious problem.

As the roles of women change in various cultures that becomes a difficult question to answer. The answers would be quite different country to country. In America where women are now expected to take on the roles of work in addition to familial obligations I think I would have to weigh in on the side of men. Their responsibilities seem to be lessening as womens roles seem to be broadening. In countries where women are considered possessions there is the psychological considerations of powerlessness and the lack of self determination that must be taken into account. Thinking in that vein there again I would have to weigh in on the side of males. However, in America and other Westernized nations, the right of self determination by either sex seems to even the odds in some respects, does it not? Pretty interesting question when you really think about it.

it depends on what's "it" that you are talking about. there are areas where nature has seperated to make male and female to be harmonic. everything is made of male and female and that's the real reason of differences. so i'll say both are equal as one couldn't be one without the other.

It's not a gender issue. The ones that have got it better are the ones with more mature parents.

same work, more pay. 'nuff said

I'm not saying it's right, I'm not endorsing this system, I'm just saying that that's the way it is.
