6. Discrimination against women.
God has given India everything. But India couldnt utilise it. The main problems are Illiteracy and the habit of minsters to try only for filling their pockets, forgetting what they were made leaders for.

Take a bird's eye view and you will be convinced that India is developing fast and will soon be categorised as a developed country. There are already some indications :
1. Look at NASA, Majority of Scientists are of Indian Origin.
2. All the developed countries are are eagerly looking towards India for investment.
3. The software arena is being controlled by Indians.
4. Yoga is being introduced and appreciated across the Globe.
5. It is estimated that 40-50% of youth across the world will be from India in 2025. Developed countries are already facing a crunch of young peaple.
So many more indicators ..........
The next twenty years are crucial for this transformation.

India IS developing though, and at an incredibly rapid pace. From a technology standpoint, India produces some of the finest technicians and engineers in the world.
From a culture standpoint, there are 2 things that slow their progress... religion, and government. Moreso government than anything. There is TOO much government in India. Too many regulationms... too many hoops to jump through to get anything done.
Progress is always driven by speed... and the faster a country/company/person can make and implement a decision, the faster it can move forward.
The problem is, the people IN the government would rather not reel back the levels of power that they have.
An example is: In India, if you want to start your own small business, it can take 6 months to a year to acquire the licenses, and such required to get up and running.
In the US, it can take a couple of weeks to a couple of months to get the necessary legal paperwork cleared (taxes, licenses, etc) to get into business.
In Hong Kong, where the economy is STILL booming, and is developing and progressing at a record pace, you could be up and running in a day or 2.
Government is the biggest threat to progress.

India is not developing because the people of India don't want to. It's only certain sectors of India that have come a long way, but majority of the population wants to make no effort to change things. Corruption, dirty politics, superstitious beliefs and lack of basic facilities have cropped India's growth for decades. Lets hope that India realises the right things to do rather than let things be the way they are.

Democracy is the main obstacle. The model has to be changed to suit 1 billion ppl. We are still following the old british model, composed for 10 million population. It works for smaller nations but cannt work for India. Adapt a stricter democracy as in Singapore or adopt 1 party rule simialr to China.

India is developing and is considered one of the most promising locations on Earth. India has one technology park in Mumbai and another in Bangalore and the are building a third in Punjab bay. I quote now the words of the Dean of Eton the UK most prominent Boys school and the most ancient since 1400+. He told his students that in the next 10 to 15 years your boss will be Indian or Chinese and that they will be the most developed countries in the world. Bear in Mind that Eaton as a School has got the world largest number of prime ministers in History. Finally I urge you to ask a question that makes sense and that is based on facts not nonsense.

u have raised a flashing question , that why india is not developing . the question itself is not true 100% because it is not for a country but for every body that who doesnot develop he declines . but u know india is not declining it means it is developing. it is true that it is not developing rapidly as it should be , the development of India is crowling like totoise. but we are sure we will win some day. now about our slow development i think it is due to our corrupt politicions who is worried more for himself, then for his chair and lastly for his party. and never for country. next due to some wrong decission made by our politicians like resevation and less job opertunity in india and so nce brains are drained to europe and american countries.other matters are there but are subsidery.

The cities are developing, but the villages are in a state of terrible neglect. The infrastructure of Indian cities is under a lot of stress due to large-scale migration of the population from villages to small towns and cities.
Not many people like to live in villages and develop them, because of the lack of basic facilities in many of them. But villages are changing, albeit at a slower pace than the big metros.
