My aunt would like to start making homemade soap, but can't seem to find lye to do it. Is Lye sold in stores? Whats the brand name? Are there ANY soap recipes that can be used that are Lye-free? Thanks.

Check out Michaels, they have a whole Isle reserved for soap making. :)

If she needs lye checkout Bittercreek Candle Supply. They sell it to the hobbist soap makers.
require a signed waiver before selling.

One of the owner of Bittercreek "Doneen" also has a website that has soap recipes & tips. Hope this helps.

In the meantime, your Aunt can save her soap scraps, melt them in a small pot on the stove - then pour into mold cups. Molds come in so many different shapes - should be fun!
She can also save soap chips in a pump-style bottle with hot water - keep by the sink as a liquid hand cleaner.
