you should try this first.....to have sex at time of ovulation and the 2days before & the following are ways to detect ovulation with some certainty, in order of decreased probability:
A typical temperature rise on the BBT chart.
An endometrial biopsy that shows typical changes 7-10 days after ovulation.
An elevated blood progesterone level about 7-10 days after ovulation.
Seeing on ultrasound a follicle that measures 18mm+ and not seeing it anymore several days later and seeing fluid around the ovary.
A positive OPK (ovulation predictor kit)
Ferning on the fertility microscope
Mittelschmerz (ovulation pain)
Cervical mucus changes like egg-white cervical mucus (EWCM).
if that not work you can use either clomid or HMG with or without HCG under supervision of your gynobstetric doctor

You should visit a fertility specialist. Many Obstetricians are well intentioned but do not have sufficient knowledge to help if you have a complex problem, like I did. My fertiilty doc tried synthetic hormones first,( Chlomid) to stimulate my ovaries, but it did not work at all. He monitored my ovaries through sonograms and blood work so he knew it wasnt working. He switched to natural hormone injections and within a month I was pregnant. The problem is that they are expensive (Paid $ 1,000 for the medication alone, then $ 3,000 for the medical treatment and $ 500 more for preliminary medical workup). But if you can afford it, go for it! I must have spent seven grant to get pregnant but it was worth it. I gaveup a few luxuries for a year (eating out at restaurants, cable, call waiting, vacations, etc) but it was good training for parenthood, lol, you have to give up so much after you become a parent. And everyone was so excited when I finally got the baby that I got may presents for him so I did not have to buy much at all. He inherited many toys too from his older cousins. Good luck.
PS- Among other problems I had a thyroid condition which puts me at risk for miscarriage. My sister too and she did not know and lost 2 babies. Make sure you get tested for it!!

I took Clomid and had HCG injections to help me ovulate, which allowed us to finally conceive our daughter. We are ttc again, so I am doing everything the same. Clomid only increases your chances of twins by 6%, and multiple births by 2% - so don't stress into thinking you'll have 5 babies. That is highly unlikely.
Make an appointment with your OB and discuss your options. If they haven't done routine blood tests already, have them do them. They can check for any hormone imbalances, etc... that might interfere with conception.
Also, does your OB have any idea why you might have miscarried? I had one and my OB discovered I have a luteal phase defect, which means my lining doesn't get thick enough to sustain a pregnancy, so I have to take estrace (estrogen) before I ovulate to thicken my lining and prometrium (progesterone) after I ovulate to help sustain my lining.
If you know for sure that you are ovulating regularly, then Clomid might not be the option for you, but there might be something that can help you. If your OB can't assist you, then look for a fertility specialist or a woman's medical center. Good luck.

My friend is taking Clomid and she's still having problems, but she's only on the lowest dose.
First though, have you tried charting? http://www.fertilityfriend.com can help you out. Also try reading the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" which will help also.
Good luck with your TTCing and your pregnancy.

If you have been charting your ovulation cycle and are stillnot getting pregnant around that time...talk to your Dr about going on a low dose of clomid (50 mg). It worked for me. Have you had yourself tested to be sure that you are ovulating also.
