normal as far as i know has many meanings in mathematical and physical terms.

Normal is the line that is perpendicular to the tangent of a curve.

A surface normal, or just normal to a flat surface is a three-dimensional vector which is perpendicular to that surface. A normal to a non-flat surface at a point p on the surface is a vector which is perpendicular to the tangent plane to that surface at p. The word normal is also used as an adjective as well as a noun with this meaning: a line normal to a plane, the normal component of a force, the normal vector, etc.

Normal distribution, a type of probability distribution in probability theory and statistics

Normal extension, in abstract algebra, a certain type of algebraic field extensions

Normal family, a pre-compact family of holomorphic functions

Normal function, a continuous strictly increasing function from ordinals to ordinals

Normal matrix, a matrix which commutes with its conjugate transpose

Normal mode, a special type of solution in an oscillating system

Normal morphism, is a morphism that arises as the kernel or cokernel of some other morphisms

Normal number (computing), a number that is within the normal range of a floating-point format

Normal number, a number whose digit sequence is random

Normal operator, a linear operator on a Hilbert space that commutes with its adjoint

Normal space, a topological space in which disjoint closed sets can be separated by disjoint neighborhoods

Normal subgroup, a subgroup that is invariant under conjugation in abstract algebra

"Normal", is usually used in optics. It is a line perpendicular to a reflecting or refracting surface.

Perpendicular.

Of course, if you use this definition at a party, your friends won't think you're normal. No matter, most of them probably aren't normal to the floor, anyway.

Anyone who knows as many definitions for normal as visibleman is, by definition, not normal. lol

wide-spread - boring and familiar. Love - difficult to define however the closest i will come is you're prepared to settle for the failings of yet somebody else and positioned them earlier your self, to never enable them to bypass, to be happy once you're with them Confusion - Um....DARHAR

"Normal," is seen from the perspective of individuals, who use themselves as the standard. For instance, you think differently than I do...therefore, from my perspective, I am normal and you are not. I think this pretty much applies to everyone.
