If you could make the same money you make now, and could liver
anywhere in the USA including Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, and
the Virgin Islands, where would you live? It's okay if you have more than one place in mind.......

Interesting how some people are picking
relatively cold places. I have to say I like
cold, open places too. Northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan have that peacefulness, and not quite so barren
as the Dakotas. Northern Minnesota has its charms, but is cold as a freezer in the winter. The ideal would be to have a place
up north and down south or in the tropics to have the best of both worlds, but most people don't have the financial werewithal,
and have to make one choice.
Also, you will be spending the vast majority
of your time living in the place where you work, even if you have two places, so it realistically comes down to one choice for everyone anyway.
The desert southwest far away from Vegas
or Phoenix would be pretty incredible.
Vegas and Phoenix are really nasty, over-crowded, natural resource-sucking places
that remind us too much of the places we're trying to get away from. Arizona has some really incredible places sprinkled
around the state. .

My ultimate choice would be any Island
in Hawaii, especially Oahu and Maui!
Life expectancy is the longest of any state there for a reason! It's the most relaxed and laid back, the scenery is a knockout, and the weather is as ambiant as a bubbly
hot tub just a tad above lukewarm, with balmy ocean breezes added in for good
measure.
Lake Tahoe/Reno area would have to top anyones's list. You haven't lived until you've
driven the loop road around Tahoe.
Key West has always been one of my favorites too. SImply oozes personality!
Colorful beyond words, literally and figuratively! What can you say about a
place where seeing someone with a green
parrot perched on their shoulder doesn't bat an eye? And the hemingway thing,
the music on Duval street, the sunset
cerimony with the street performers, the
fisherman coming in with fresh fish on the docks, how can you go wrong with Key West?
I truly think that if I was stuck on Key Wesy for the rest of my life, I'd be happy! :)

I think it awesome that somebody picked
New Jersey, and I'm not being sarcastic.
People are very down to earth, yes, sometimes a bit rude, but really decent
after all is said and done. Lets face it,
jersey has lots of character and character(s)! And you just have to love the politicians! So corrupt they make Nixon look
like a country rube! And you will never b*llsh*t someone from Jersey! They are on to everyone's game, believe me! And I truly
think that, as a whole, they are hilarious!
I mean, just hearing that JOISEY accent
makes you laugh itself!......"youse from JOISEY?" The most comical accent on earth! Funniest is hearing a beautiful woman with a JOISEY accent. You admire the beauty, than the jaw drops when she opens her mouth! LOL!

oh man, someone picked the highway
1 pac coast highway area! Tell me about it, if there is anything more beautiful than the stretch from Monterrey to san simeon and big sur, tell me about it! My jaw dropped the first time I drove highway 1(the part
everyone thinks of). Was driving a rented
convertible. I swear, it reminded me of Hawaii1 And the overlooks that you can park your car at, looking down on the rocks. What perspective of crashing ocean, fog, and rocks! Didn't think anything
could be so pretty till I saw it!

Elosobravo! You picked the coldest place
in the continental USA! LOL! :) Our
WGN weatherman, Tom Skilling, always
has to mention that International falls recorded the lowest temp, on days between Dec. and Jan.....It always makes you feel not so bad when you hear that I falls is 22 below!
Hey, if you like cold and winter, boy, you can't beat I-falls! makes Fargo look like Maui!

Saturn, "No ugly women, great food" sounds like a sign on a roadside diner"!
I'll have to remember that if I ever open up a gerasy spoon in Las cruces!
Speaking of New Mexico, how about Santa
Fe? That would be my choice in the great state of New Mexico.
I think New Mexico is the least mentioned
or thought of state, and I think that's sad!
It's a really friendly, beautiful place, and everyone should check it out, if they are in the area, especially Las cruces and Sante Fe(Albuquerque is a hole though, if you can
spell it correctly you get 10 points)

People say San Diego is beautiful, and the weather perfect, but that the residents are rude airheads....thats all I ever hear, but I
thought they were pretty friendly and decent
when I was out there. Maybe you have to live there to realize it!
Maybe paying 555K for a 3-bedroom ranch makes you crabby too!

Enchanted melody, NYC really is like you think it is....you sound on the young side. Why don't you consider moving there for real! LIfe is too short to dream!
NYC is controlled chaos, and I mean it in the best sense of the word. Also, I think you are referencing Manhattan. That's just one of five boroughs. The others are way different. Brooklyn and staten Island are
more like Jersey. Queens and the Bronx
are like the multiethnic Asian stew that is
Los angeles! There are some very cool
Russian and hassidic Jewish communities
in Brooklyn if you want character!
I say move to NYC and give it a try! You'll love it!

How come no one mentioned living on an Indian reservation(the rez, as the indians themselves, or at least the young, cool ones, call it). How cool would it be to live in your own Indian nation, and have carte
blanche to open up any venue related to
gambling you choose(red man's revenge),
and get in cahoots with the local mob or teamster's local to run things!)

It depends on how much money you have, I guess. I can't think of any place I'd rather be than right here in San Diego. It's expensive, and people are rude in the city (I live in north county suburbs) but anything, any season you could ever want, you can get to in a car in an hour or so. Sports are dead here though.

I would chose North Dakota, preferably western near the Badlands.I'm tired of the rat race and would love to live somewhere peaceful, even if I have to drive an hour to get to the store.I prefer the cold weather and even love the snow.I am seriously thinking about it so anyone that lives there, let me know a great place to relocate to.

Call me crazy but I'd like to live in NYC. Not forever though, maybe just for a year. Where in NYC? I'm not sure. If I had the money to afford a $25k +/month apt, I'd probably choose Manhattan. I'm from a small town in Texas and visiting NYC earlier this year was one of the best experiences of my life. ...LOVE it!

I'd love to have a ranch in Montana or Wyoming...just 500 acres or so...H-E-A-V-E-N! I'd settle for a more realistic dream---15 acres in Oak Ridge, Missouri... perfect place to rasie my girls, less than 30 kids per grade! Some day...!
