where did the Danville High School get there mascot name "Admirals"?

Lots of High School nicknames don't have any reason behind them. Mine was The Comets. Guess what opponents discovered rhymed with that? There is town, I think in West Virgina called Poka,(spelling may be incorrect). They're the Dots. In New York there's a place called Lyons. They're the Lions.
