It's sounds like you have placenta previa, don't panic. As your uterus grows, the placenta will move off your cervix and all will be ok. Just be careful until you are given the all clear, because if you start contractions while your placenta is over the cervix, you can bleed to death.

Just keep in mind that I'm not a doctor. But to me it sounds like you may have a placenta previa. I am 33 wks and I have the same thing. As long as your doctor is aware of it then you should not worry about it. I would hope that your doctor gives you some info about it though. Just to ease any worries. I was diagnosed with a partial placenta previa. And we have noticed that it is correcting itself. Placenta Previa is where part or all of the placenta is covering the opening of your cervix. It can be very dangerous if you were to go into labor for you and your baby. So, if it means having a c-section to prevent any of that then by all means go with it. But please don't worry yourself too much. They are more common than you think. Some may be ordered to bed rest. But not in most cases. I've been lucky. If you have any pregnancy books then look for info in those. IF not then you can read about it on the Internet. But the best is to just talk to your doc about it. They know you and your body and they see what is going on. Anyway, good luck to you and just relax and enjoy your pregnancy as much as you can. My best wishes to you.

That's called placenta previa. I've never heard of a doc saying no sex til the 2nd trimester though. The placenta moves all the time with my first I was like that up until a few days before he was born, don't worry about it, it'll just move around on it's own most likely.
Happy Baby!!!! :-D

most of the low lying placenta in in the early months of pregnancy usually moves upward in the uterus as the pregnancy advances....so don't worry much now , however avoid intercourse for the time being....a repeat scan done at the 34th month will give u a rogh estmation of whether u are gonna end up wid placenta previa or not.....and even if thats the case there are degrees of placenta pravia n therefore not all cases ends up with c-section.....cool!!

You are likely to have your "water" break when labor begins. Most people don't have this happen until late in labor unless broke by a doctor. This could be a problem since you can not carry a baby any longer than 24 hours after water has broke. Otherwise you would be more prone to infections. This could be a big problem if you go into preterm labor.
Don't panic, this happens everyday.
Just do whatever your Ob Gyn advices and you should be fine.

When the placenta is low you have a big chance of bleeding a lot during your pregnancy, my sister had a low placenta, and she kept having blood spots during all her pregnancy, make sure you always rest and when you lay down try to raise your feet higher than your body, and special attention should be taken while delivery.

Caesarian is safe and ideal. Sex is better avoided but a sonograph will give authentic detail.
