Yesterday when I was getting a hot dog someone threw an egg at me and wanted to fight me. I skimpered away, but now I'm afraid to leave my car and my office in Chicago. I was only afraid of going to a White Sox game before, but now I can't do anything in Chicago. Should I just leave and never come back?

It seems that YOU might be the problem here. Therefore running will just carry the problem along with you. You don't want to do that. You should adopt the old military adage "Ride to the sound of the guns," (often attributed to one or another of Napoleon's Marshals). It means rather than running from trouble, the best way to confront is to head directly for it. Then "trouble" will most likely be the one to retreat.

You must realize that with "Da Bears" playing the way they are and unlikely to stop playing well in the forseeable future, the people of Chicago will become more and more insane and unpredictable over the next few months. If "Da Bears" make the playoffs again (and the chances look excellent they will,) then by January, you most likely will find yourself having to dodge raining beer cans, hot links and cheesesteak subs in order to get into your office.

Best to get ready now by reaching down between yer legs and taking "the boys" firmly in hand. Fix yer eyes straight ahead and march forward with a steely gaze, repeating over and over "Mike Ditka," Mike Ditka," "Mike Ditka," SHOW NO FEAR - (when Chicagoans are in a true "Bears-Frenzy" they can smell fear faster than a rabid pit-bull!)

(Or you could get a job in St. Louis, I hear they're all pretty much pussys over there.....)

If you learn this song all the scary people might be your friend!! Bear down, Chicago Bears,
Make every play clear the way to victory.
Bear down, Chicago Bears,
Put up a fight with a might so fearlessly.
We'll never forget the way you thrilled the nation,
With your T-formation.
Bear down, Chicago Bears,
And let them know why you're wearing the crown.
You're the pride and joy of Illinois,
Chicago Bears, bear down.

Carry your cell phone and call the police if there is an immediate danger. If we just let these people get by with their violence, it will continue unless something is done about about it. Carry pepper spray for bigger emergencies, and then, call the police. If you can find a job somewhere else and you hate the job you have, go ahead and move, but, if you like your job, don't let those bullys chase you out.
