I've also been trying to find ways to get more channels than just TV5 Monde. But the cable providers and Sky have told me that TV5 is the only channel available here. The only way I've been able to see the programming is via streaming feeds on the channels' websites. Go to http://fr.tv.yahoo.com/ and use the pulldown menu under Poursuivez Votre Recherche and go to WebTV. It will give you listings for lots of French tv programmes that are viewable on the web.

Go to France and ask them to give you a TV made in France and you have the French TV it is as simple as that. Take it back to UK and you have French TV in UK. What satellite dish you are talking about. If you are meaning French TV programmes, then you will need a satellite dish tuned in for French TV programmes.
