When looking for an mp3 player, the main thing to consider is what you're going to be using it for. If you're going to be listening primarily to music, pretty much any player will do. I have a Creative Zen 512 MB Nano that cost me less than the comparably sized iPod shuffle. If you want to watch videos, you'll need to get the iPod video, which comes in either 30 GB or 80 GB sizes.

mp3 players are much more user friendly. you like songs, you take them, drag them into your mp3 player.just like using a mini hard disc, but only it can play the music inside.besides, most of mp3 players can be used as hard discs, you can put your pics, homework or anything else in them and put them and put them off into some other computer....most mp3 players have small screens,so if you want to buy an mp3 player,be carefull to buy one with a large screen that makes it easy to browse through your songs.

in the other hand, ipods need itunes to load music.you can upload mp3 datas into them but unless you upload them with itunes, you cant play them.and if you upload them with itunes you cant put them into another computer ( unless you know how to)

so ; my choice is : ipod !!! yea, although it seems nonesense, i'd prefer my ipod to any mp3 player i've used, and i've used many. cos ipod has a different style, the way it shows artworks, the way it pushes you to be organised...it is not just some device you use to play music; it has a personality.

so if you are looking for some music on the road, buy anything. if music is an important part of your life, ipod is a necessity.

The ipod is very hyped. there are other mp3 players out there which do more for less. I have a sony one which holds 13,000 tracks and was slightly cheaper than the equivalent ipod.
