I am 28w1d and I have been losing (what I think is) my mucous plug. It's like clumps of white/clear discharge. It is extremely thick and I have had this 4 times and the size of it is pretty big (bigger than a quarter). I have also been having these pintching cramps in my vagina. It feels like someone is sticking their hand up there and pintching something. and the last thing is, It feels like she keeps kicking me in my cervix...but I feel her feet up by my ribs... What's going on??

The baby is dropping already. This is normal and losing your mucus plug is a very normal, if gross, occurance. I think that's her head thats getting the cervix. Ask your doctor, you may be a) further along than everyone thought, or b) baby may be coming early. Have the doc check for dilation. Good luck, you may have a beautiful new baby very soon!

If your discharge consists of mucous and is streaked with blood (as opposed to a thin, white fluid), it is possible that you're losing your mucous plug. Give your doctor a call - there are ways of preventing you going into labour even if the mucous plug is no longer in place, to help you carry the baby to term.

As for the kicking question - what you're feeling in your cervix could be her hands, elbows, knees, etc. Remember, it feels like "kicks" but it's actually bumps with any body part!

Don't get too paranoid! First of all while you are pregnant you do get a thick discharge throughout your pregnancy. I think it has something to do with your hormones. The pinching (I HAD IT) as I was told was your nether regions (pelvic bone etc) getting ready for birth. If you are extremely worried about it give your gynae a call and ask him!

A discharge is very very normal, but you probably want to see the doc ASAP just in case. But rest assured, discharge is just part of it all. Also, those vagina pains are normal too.
