i have a lump on the bottom of my head. i thought it might of been a spot of something but if i squeeze it, it really hurts and my husband has looked at it and said it was simply just a lump. i have had it for nearly 2 weeks now, and i have recently been getting headaches though the side of my head (if you know what i mean) and also when i walk i feel giddy and faint.

The lump could be pressing on a nerve, but if you are starting to feel faint now, pay a visit to your doctors.

It is probably a sebaceous cyst. This is like an ice burg, what you see on the outside is small compared to what is on the inside. It is just tissues that have multiplied in that spot for some reason. Not usually a problem but can be painful and should be removed by your doctor if they are bothering you. It can be removed right there in the office in about a half hour. The dizzy spells and the giddy feeling could be psycho somatic because you are worrying about this. For peace of mind go see the Doctor.

It could be a swollen gland - these can get quite sore.

Headache could be due to stressing about it?

Is the lump at the back of your head when it joins your neck? If so there are probably two. Mine are sore most of the time and I think can be a cause of a headache.

Whatever the case, it's impossible to diagnose over the internet - go and see your doctor asap.

Good luck

lets see. got a strange lump on your head. so the best place to get help is an Internet Answer site. That makes a ton of sense.

Try going to a doctor to have it looked at. It can be something stupid to something serious.

And yes, you can get cancer anywhere. Skin cancer is skin cancer no matter what part of the skin it is. Plus cancer grows beneath the skin causing lumps.

no doubt it's a sebaceous cyst as everyone says. This is a completely benign lump that only needs to be removed if it's bothering you. This can be done with only a local anaesthetic in your doctor's surgery. There really aren't many other things it could be, but of course it would be sensible to see your doctor about it.

hi,

any lumps anywhere on the body need to get checked out by a doctor. I had a lump on my neck and it turned out to be thyroid cancer....I am doing good now because unlike you I went to the doctor as soon as I found it ...quit asking people on the internet....we aren't docs....please see a doc.

Please go to the doctors!
Cancer can occur anywhere in the body as it is an overstimulation of cells. Saying that it is probably nothing, but I wouldn't take the risk!
