Kept in pens so tight they can hardly move and that's all they know their entire lives?
Do you know what psychological torture looks like? When animals pace back and forth and bite thier cage all day?
Do you know they say pigs are smarter than dogs?
How would you feel if Dogs were kept like that?
ANd they are treated like that in China, so what's the big deal? Animal torture is OK?

Golden, honey. "Veal" is a name given to Baby Cow meat.
A "lamb" is what a baby Sheep is called.
And most farm animals on agribusiness farms are tortured and killed, some more than others i.e. baby cows....

Yes, I do know how badly pigs, in particular, are treated.Since I read a book called "The New....Why you don't need meat" Which foretold the coming mad cow disease and Creutzfeldt-Jacob disease in humans. It put me off meat for months but I gradually got back into eating meat I'm afraid. In the book he describes the sickening way that pigs are slaughtered at the abbatoir. It's enough to send you crazy if you think about it. I think we humans must be the most vicious species that ever walked the earth. Perhaps it's as well that we won't be around much longer. (And this treatment is meted out in the western countries, not China. Goodness knows what goes on there!)
P S To "Practical" Children SHOULD be cared for, you're quite right. That doesn't mean that animals should be tortured though. There's plenty of evidence that says that if we can ill-treat animals we are much more likely to ill-treat humans too!

Do you know how cruel any animals are treated when farming becomes big business? To maintain the supply of cheap food demanded by city populations farms have no choice but to rely on the most cost efficient methods they can. If this means penning the animals they will. If this means using only one type of animal, they have to. Did you know that 98% of all chickens raised are of the one type? Modern demand has put such a strain on the agriculture system that it is already beginning to break down. You can see this yourself. Look at where Mad Cow Disease comes from. How long do you think the food chain will put up with the strain before it collapses and we have food riots? We need to do something now!

I know it is very cruel. But to go a little further the eating stops the buying and the buying stops the killing or herding the animals in unbelievable condition. Best thing to do is to turn Vegetarian.
No animal meat No torture to animal. No more Bird Flu and No more mad cow disease.

I had a pet pig until he grew eating size, so I am aware they are smarter than dogs, regardless of what "they" say. I hate dogs and the way people take care of dogs, they SHOULD be kept like that and worse.
Pigs are not tortured.

It's a problem of the "food chain". So eat and some are eaten.
Right now you are on the top of the food-chain. When the aliens arrive, you may find yourself pushed down to number two, then you will have real reason to complain.

I'm aware of that kind of animal cruelty as I've seen films of it on the PETA website. Its very unfair and sad what animals have to go through for the greed of us humans. I think eating animals is wrong, which is why I'm a vegetarian. Why should they go through such suffering? They have feeling as well, they feel the same pain we do.

I thought that is only done to lambs to make veal..........which are not allowed to move so as to make their muscles tender.............I hate that, will not eat veal, cannot figure out why anyone would............now pigs too!!!!!! The veal is treated worse, they are not even allowed to pace.....they have to just stand there.

Well if a pig decided to spend it's life being cruel then it doesn't deserve the polite and pampered treatment that the gracious and caring pigs get.

Sadly it is true but logistically it would be impossible to have so many pigs roam free on a farmers land
