good question!!! It is so annoying. I was sitting right behind two young ladies recently and they texted the whole movie!! But, it didn't bother me if they wanted to pay money and do that to themselves BUT due to the fact that I was right behind them and that it is very dark at a movie, every time they texted, the light would illuminate right into my eyes!! it was so annoying I wanted to get up and move but the place was crowded and it would have been hard to get another good seat.
I almost said something but held my tongue. Finally, half way through, I guess they got bored and quit.
they should make EVERYONE turn off their phones at movies!!

I've quit going to the movies because of all the rude people. I went to see Troy, and almost got into a fight with an old couple who would not stop talking (not even whispering, but talking over the movie) and they got mad when I very politely asked them if they would lower their voices. The old man started yelling at me, saying that I was making too much noise. The theater was full, so I couldn't move somewhere else. I ended up walking out 10 min into the movie.
My little girl loves to go to the movies. She has been taught to be quite, and not speak during the movie. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the other adults in the theater. They seem to think that because it is a kid's movie that it is OK to be rude.
It is much more pleasant to watch movies at home where everyone knows to be quiet.

Why? Because messaging is a full time job. Messaging does not take into account the fact that you are in a movie theater, in the bath tub, or on the potty. Messaging goes on 7 days a week, 24 hours per day. The trick is to be able to handle it with one hand while touching up your mackup and driving your car with the other hand. In the near future we can expect to see George Bush delivering a Presidential Address while sending a test message on the side. Bush does have a Cell Phone... Right?
And, lest you think I am somewhat out of the ordinary, it doesn't bother me, either, to be making simply fantastic love to my partner while they moan and "text" someone clear across the country. What interferes sometimes is the random giggle at a funny text message just as I reach my peak of interest in the physical union of two souls deeply in love. Er-r, was that giggle about "Henry's Text" or about something I forgot to do? Is someone watching us over the Cell Cam?
So, as you might believe, I am entirely in favor of low volume Texting, medium volume Texting, and Full-Tilt, Go- For-The-Prize, Heavy-Duty Texting. However, I can see a future where millions of people have worn out their thumbs and we evolve into a society of four fingered human beings (no thumb - present design unsuitable - to flimsey).
Cheers,
Zah

People are rude and selfish. they see no harm in making calls durring movies because they are the only people who matter. These are the same folks who cut you off on the highway.
