psycologically speaking, feelings reflect the relationship between the subject (i.e. person who feels) and object (i.e. other ppl or a situation).
it's one of the adaptive (regaltory) processes, that makes us cope with daily life by balancing outer conditions with our inner needs.
it also plays a great part in attentiveness, will and motivation (i.e. you study more carefully and with greater willpower on a subject you enjoy rather than one you dislike)

Hey chrisjhon m,
That is a good question. Philosophically, because that is what life is about.
Your human mechanism has to deal with someone violating your sensibilities - therefore you have anger.
The beast needs to proliferate - therefore you have love.
Someone did you big time wrong - therefore you hate.
Some of this has to do with survival of the species! By George, I think that is it!

Because of too much expectation, and clouding of intellect about the impracticability of such expectations getting fulfilled !
You have inserted one word 'love' , for which the above holds good UNLESS, this love is also free from expectation !

People feel physical pain so they can avoid whatever's hurting them or get away from it. Likewise for emotional pain. If they never felt bad, they'd never understand how great it is to feel good.

Sometimes - it is the thinking process that gets muddled -- and so we "emote."
