our cleaner and my youngest daughter (aged 11) have never got on, now the cleaner claims to have found cigarettes in my daughter's room, though I'm pretty sure she's not daft enough to smoke, my other daughter says I should sack the cleaner for being a grass, wheather its true or not, shes been with us 21/2 years, what do you think

You need to find out if your cleaner is telling the truth. Before your cleaner goes in the room, look around for yourself and see if there are any hints your daughter is smoking. Before you do anything drastic like firing her, do this. She may be telling the truth.

Why don't you do your own investigation and see who's telling the truth before you point any fingers. The one thing I have learned is that kids will play on their parents feelings sometimes. I'm not saying your daughter is actually doing anything, but you atleast want to find out if this has any truth to it before you put someone out of a job. Why are you taking your kids advice? Your the parent and you should be making the decisions based on what is right and what is wrong. They obviously don't like this woman, but that's no reason to get rid of her. If she's a good cleaner then she deserves to be there. Just as long as she's respectful to you, your kids, and your home then she should stay. Why don't you take a closer look at your kids and see what their up to. Don't be so quick to jump to your kids defense because kids are sneaky. We have all been kids before, and these days kids a lot younger do a lot of things we didn't do until we were a lot older. Check things out before you make a final decision.

I think I would listen to the cleaner, and you need to make your daughter respect the cleaner, after all she is an adult. Don't be so willing to take your daughter's side, talk to the both of them, and I don't see why the cleaner has to lie, what would she have to gain by that. And if the cigarettes, is not one daughter, it may be the other daughter, It is someone in your house. And that is not the cleaners fault.

What would the cleaner have to gain by telling you about finding fags in her drawer? Maybe keep her as your daughter and make the daughter clean? Wrong. 11 isn't to young to pick up habits like that or bring things home from school without intention of using. I'd take a closer look at my household, were I you.

I dont think that the cleaner had put this cigarets on your sister's room because its childish and stupid, the cleaner can loose her work and she should know that your sister won't have any (almost) blame for this cigs!

On the other hand your sister can perfectly blame your cleaner instead of saying the truth!!Cause an other person take the blame for her and she can say that she is innocent!!

What i want say is that your sister have many more reasons to show your cleaner that reverse...

Think on it before to fire your cleaner.....

sorry for my english i hope you even understand...
