I need it now!! I need some weed! Oh god, how do you people quit smoking weed? I was doing fine this afternoon, but suddenly, a rush of urges ran through my body, it says it wants weed now! Do you think it'll be alright if I just replaced it with alcohol, or might I become an alchy instead of a chronic? Which is best?

Don't replace it with alcohol...that will be too easy of a trap for you to fall into.....I can't say what you should do except get busy if you can....stay busy too so you haven't time to think about it too much. Try exercising...it's not the greatest, but it does help. Once you get those endorphins pumping you'll feel a bit "high" on exercise...it's more of a relaxed, but ready to go feeling.....There's really no substitute for weed.....sorry I wasn't of much help...Good luck!

I know whacha mean man. i get it all the time too. these cravings for smokin some greens.

but it isn't addictive... one good way to prove it is that if you stop smokin it, you wouldn't go through cold turkey. :) you'll only miss it that's all. it's just that we got a habit of smokin some and sitting back and relaxing.

how i get over my weed cravings is to go out and do something. usually exercise or swim or something that i CANNOT smoke greens with. it's a habit to smoke it because basically people can smoke and do anything!

with regards to turning to alcohol, DON'T DO IT! alcohol is so much more unhealthy than weed. don't do it... if u really need to chill out it's alright to go drink like a couple of pints. but don't do it all the time...

ok, time to go take my hourly sneaky toke.

keep it burnin! :D

Weed, THC the active ingredient in the herb is not addictive like nicotine in cigarettes. You just have a nasty habit that you have to get rid of! How? Well do something else, don't hang out with people who smoke, go for walks when you think your "craving" becomes bad. Change your lifestyle! You don't wanna be a pothead for the rest of your life, do you?

Addictions are terrible - they destroy peace of mind & erode our freedom of choice. They harm our health & damage our relationships. In the case of pot there is the short term memory loss. (which you need for your employability)

Get yourself to an AA meeting.
Look up 12 step programs in your area.

They will not care what you addiction was, or that pot is supposed to be not physically addictive or whatever.

It's your life, my friend. Take control of it!

Good Luck!

If you're serious and not just asking for kicks try prayer if you're religious. That helped me quit smoking cigarettes. Also try exercise. When you feel good you don't want to put garbage in your body. That helped me as well.
