NO! He did express his regret that his quotation of a previous EMPEROR was met with the same barbaric behavior that the emperor had abhorred 6 centuries earlier.
No, Islam is not becoming more intolerant; it is simply more active, and enabled, due in part to the massive amounts of oil revenue the Islamic OPEC states are receiving. To a certain degree, I feel the increased awareness of Islamic intolerance of others is a function of more news sources, though news media is heavily censored in many of the Islamic states. The internet does play a significant role in this increased awareness. I received hundreds of news stories from around the world when the Taleban was preparing to destroy the statues of Buddha in Afghanistan. The content analysis part of my work indicated something huge was happening, and about to happen, in Afghanistan. By June 2001, I knew that Islam would be increasing hostilities against the West and India, although India is a perpetual target of Islam, and the starting point is Kashmir.
To cite a prior poster, who always seems to do good work, they are also intolerant among themselves. Poster cites the Sunni and Shia division, but Islam has also nearly crushed the Sufi denomination. Arabic muslims are conducting a genocide against black African muslims in Darfur.

Well.we do live in an intergrated global soceity.and if u are a person in a very strong influntial position,u do have to take care of your words.it certainly will have a profound effect on the world.
in the same instance.
"if i a say Hitler was a very charismatic person.i admire him."
i'ld be wrong to some people who were affected by his actions.
and it'ld be more so,if i were in an influential position.
On saying this.muslims do not haf to over react.
killing is uncivilised.and violence is strictly prohibited in Islam.
i am a muslim.and i am very ashamed with the reactions by some of my brothers.
On the bright side, i do believe these people are not the majority of muslims.
The rest of us are picking up and cleaning the mess caused by these people.
well i do hope the rest of the community understand this plight
and do not condemning the rest of those not guilty.

NO, i mean honestly i am not religious but since when has it been one rule for a religious instituion and a different rule for all the others. As my best friend said you do not hear key Muslim figures turning round and actually apologising for institutionalised clerics or islamist scholars stating alot worse about all us infidels.
also its a goddamn quote from the 15th century. does the papacy now have to have a flashing disclaimer on screen for all its public messages saying these views are at the core of christian literature but they do not represent or express our opinions etc??? seriously get over it.

No I don't think he should apologize for telling the truth, they just get their feelings hurt to easy. I would like to hear them apologize for all the killing and such they've done in the name of their god.

Please people. The Catholic church has its history of evil doing. They are responsible for centuries of killing countless of millions of people. So is like the pot callint the kettle black. When it comes to religion both Catholics and Muslims are one in the same. They both are guilty of committing murder and its leaders are no better today.
