I am not sure that what you say is correct. However, I feel that if it is true that people find it more acceptable for a male to be gay than for a women to be a Lesbian. It must be that people think that all females are tuned to have babies and that being a Lesbian it is highly unlikely that she will procreate.
I think folk should be allowed to be what ever sexual orientation they are happy with. But I also feel that those of us that are heterosexual should not be subject to gay and lesbian crudity as shown in places like the TV. We do not need gay and lesbian rights rammed down our throats night and day.

It has to do with prejudices, obviously. I do not have the bias I'm about to tell you is the answer, just so you know.
More men (and women) are willing to accept that some men are just not manly. These same people think any woman who has a bit of salt to her is "questionable" and somehow a threat. The unmanly man is seen as less of a threat.
The people saying "it's the other way around" are thinking of porn, not real life situations.

In my experience, it's the other way round. Most men say 'phwooor' at the idea of 2 women, but want to physically harm male gay people. I don't understand it....surely, all that matters is that the 2 people concerned love each other and treat each other in a respectful and mutually consenting way???

Hmm on the contrary i think its is more acceptable for women to be gay than it is for men. Since women being close to each other and being physical when showing their emotions is not abdnormal.
Yet when two guys are close to each other in that sense it seems to be uncomfortable for many.

You have it all backwards, most people think it is more acceptable for women to be gay and NOT men. I think that either way you have some inner mental issues, but so do many other people so who am I to descriminate.

Actually I think you have it backwards.Society seems to be far more accepting of lesbians than Gay men.As a straight male most people I know are less judgmental of women.
