To tell you the truth, nobody really knows. The best explanation I've been able to find (and frankly it doesn't explain very much) is that nipples aren't a sex-linked characteristic. In other words, nipples are just one of those sexually neutral pieces of equipment, like arms or brains, that humans get regardless of sex.
Human nipples appear in the third or fourth week of development, well before the sex characteristics. (The sex hormones start to assert themselves at seven weeks.) As many as seven pairs of nipples are arranged along either side of a "milk line," a ridge of skin that runs from the upper chest to the navel.
Anyway, both male and female babies are born with the main milk ducts intact--the gland that produces milk is there in the male, but it remains undeveloped unless stimulated by the female hormone, estrogen.

Extremely long story short, all foetus' start off pretty much the same whilst in the womb, although the ultimate sex of the baby is predisposed the relevant reproductive organs do not develop until later in the pregnancy, therefore females start with the same cells as males and vice versa, hence males have nipples.

basically it is caused by disease in males.....below is the explaination and how u can cure it:
What is gynecomastia?
Gynecomastia is a condition in which firm breast tissue forms in males. The breast tissue is usually less than 1-1/2 inches across and is located directly under the nipple. Gynecomastia may be present on one side or on both sides. This condition may make the breast tender.
Some men and boys have fat on their chests that makes it look like they have breasts. This condition is called pseudogynecomastia (false gynecomastia). It is not the same thing as gynecomastia.
What causes gynecomastia?
Gynecomastia is usually caused by changes in hormones at puberty or as part of aging. Hormones are chemicals produced by the glands of the body, such as the thyroid gland, the testes and the ovaries. Gynecomastia may be caused by changes in the balance of 2 hormones, estrogen and testosterone. In rare cases, gynecomastia is caused by prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, illegal drugs, tumors or disease.
Are tests needed to find the cause of gynecomastia?
Sometimes tests are needed, and sometimes they're not. Your doctor will ask you questions about your symptoms, such as how long you've had the breast tissue, and whether or not the area is tender. Your doctor will also ask you about the illnesses you have had in the past, the medicines you take, and other matters relating to your health. Then you will have a physical examination.
Whether you need tests depends on your age and what your doctor learns from your history and physical examination. If you are a teenager, you probably will not need more tests, since gynecomastia is common in teenage boys. As many as 65% of 14-year-old boys have gynecomastia. The breast enlargement usually goes away on its own in 2 or 3 years. However, younger boys and adult men with gynecomastia may need to have some tests, because it is more possible that some kind of disease is causing the problem.
How is gynecomastia treated?
In most cases, no treatment is needed. Your doctor will probably want to check the size of your breast tissue every few months. In 90% of teenage boys, gynecomastia goes away in less than 3 years.
Sometimes the problem can be solved if you stop taking a medicine that is causing gynecomastia or stop using an illegal drug that is causing the problem.
Occasionally, medicines may be used to treat gynecomastia, especially if tenderness is a problem. The medicine will make the extra breast tissue go away. Rarely, surgery may be necessary to remove the extra breast tissue.
Treatment is necessary if gynecomastia is caused by a disease or a tumor. If it is caused by a disease, the disease itself will need to be treated.

All humans begin life as ladies. If no Y chromosome is present in the foetus, the embryo will continue to develop into a female, but if there is a Y chromosome present in the embryo, the male sex hormone testosterone restricts the full development of breasts to just nipples

every man has nipples but the differnce is in size. Women tend to have bigger nipples with mammry glands.
If yours is bigger than the usual masculine size then its just a hormonal issue and nothing to worry about.
The Bible does have explanation for that. It may have not mentioned nipples but it makes sense to know that woman was created from man. A bone was taken from close to that area.

it's because when a baby is first forming, they are all basically female. once the baby has got going a bit,the x or y gene kicks in and the reproductive organs then start to take on male characteristics. some things r left over.....hence male nipples!

it's to do with when you are a foetus, they are all female to begin with, unless there is a chemical reaction that triggers the hormones to produce a male.
