Terminator I and II are both excellent, with lots of action and suspense and great story lines. The Sixth Sense is creepy and scary.

Classic action/scary movies - (in my opinion)
The Thing
Predator
Alien/Aliens (but not the third one)
The terminator and Terminator 2 (but once again not the third one)
Descent (Not yet a classic but cult viewing none the less)
And if your up for a bit of Horror/romantic comedy then you must watch Shaun of the Dead. If it fails to make you laugh then there must be something wrong with you.

So many to choose from. Ok these are all action films:
The Usual Suspects. Bourne Identity/Supremacy. Any of the James Bonds (if you want some light entertainment). Hmm can't think of any more at the moment.

If you are open to something different try the Korean movie 'The Host'. It is a show with a cool creature thingy and a lot of other things like humour and asian family drama going on. Efx done by the Orphanage who also did 'the day after tomorrow'.

I really don't like scary movies.
For action, what about "Lord of the Rings?"
