BE CAREFUL !! If you are polishing a rare or collector coin ! Use ONLY the cleaner / polisher recommended to you by your local coin dealer professional, or you will alter the value!!

I use "acetone", simple nail polish remover, for regular coins that I package and give as gifts... on my more rare and important coins, I use "e-Z-est" coin cleaner. This "e-Z-est" cleaner however does not work well for copper, it will turn them pinkish which IS NOT good for grading purposes.

If you are just fooling around with cleaning some junk coins you have laying around then vinegar, toothpaste, cola, lemon juice, all work. Please do not use those things on anything that is special or important to you or possibly worth way more that face value!!!

Serious coin collectors say you are not supposed to polish coins. It does something to their value.
