Here's a good one - the effect of plagiarism or copying on a person's ability to learn.
You could look at how it undermines the person and makes them cultivate a help me attitude so re-inforcing a feeling of helplessness and being unable to manage.
I have seen this in a fellow student. No matter how often she was shown something, she would want someone else to show her again. In the end, nobody wanted to help, and it led to her being quite isolated in the group. I felt sorry for her because she was stuck in this behavioural loop.
A serious suggestion is Does coca-cola really remove rust off things? You could have different types of rusty metal in bowls of coke and record what you see. Remember to log how long the objects were in the coke and you could photograph the results. Put them in for different lengths of time. So you could photograph the object after 12 hours, 24 hours, then a week, for example.
There is one thing you don't seem to understand - the point of the exercise is the skills learnt in doing the project, not so much the project itself. If you duck out of doing things like this, you will continue to fail, which seems an awful shame.

Now how honest would that be? You are in school for the purpose of learning. Are you distracted with your cell phone/text messaging? I suggest that you look for a simple project that comes from your own mind. Remember that original thinkers are leaders. But really, it's up to you whether you want to lead or follow....Good luck.
