I am not sure, ppl can be anyone that they want to be on the net. I guess screen them. Like if you have there screenname for Yahoo answer: read what they ask and what they answer. I not sure you can ever really be sure you've made a true friend or not. What ever you do.. If you plan to meet that person face to face. Dont go alone with them anywere and don't tell/show them where you or friends and family live. Also dont go to there house or friends house. Its better to be safe then rapped and dead.

finding a true friend starts with trust. most people we meet here is afraid of revealing their true identity,this is protect themselves from exploitation. Why not start looking at your community where you can check the true identity of the person rightway. or perhaps thru your friends you can be introduced via internet to people they know who lives in another state or country.

can, but needs a lot of sincerity from the 2 party esp. when everything is build on the intangible unlike in a real friendship, we are expose to one another's feelings, emotions etc.

there isn't any way you can found a true friend just keep talking and hope that they will be honest, found somone that has the same interests as you maybe someone overseas or somthing interesting like that
