What state are you in that you go to jail for being attacked? Or did you mean why do you have to go to the police station if so thats usually where they fill out the report. And you might have to look at pictures of people who were arrested for the same crimes in the past.

there is more to this than the question-probably some lies-you go to jail by breaking the law-u probably got a b/f who told u this story--- or a 'friend' read the police report-you will find out-there is more to this than u have heard.-do u go to jail if a dog bites you?

Jesus is the key to overcome any problem-so maybe whoever can read the bible and learn the truth-yet many as Paul have went to Jail for preaching the gospel-he wrote the book of Philippians the greatest book ever on rejoicing in a roman prison for life sentence for sharing the love of Jesus.

Because you are seen as poorer or less important than the person who attacked you. The police are often heavily biased. Also, they lack intelligence and will often believe the first thing they hear.

Get ways to contact witnesses who will help you before the police arrive and stop you from getting such contact information. Also you might try to get away before the police arrive so that you don't get charged with something you didn't do.

Besides that you need to depend on the court system. It's not as good as it should be, but it is probably more fair than the police departments are.

it is often a matter of perception. If you are the one attacked but the attacker is the one who appears to be more seriously injured then often the police will arrest the one who is less seriously injured. When it happened to me I was bit and while I was being bit I grabbed a club and went upside my attackers head. While I had a bite mark on my hand the other person's blood was all over the place so w/o any witnesses being present the police arrested me.
