This works if you have Internet Explorer as your browser.
The record of search history which appears in the search box on Yahoo and Google pages is actually a feature controlled by your browser.
* At the top of your screen click Tools, Internet Options, Content tab, under Personal information, click the AutoComplete box, on the AutoComplete Settings window click the Clear Forms box to delete your current history, or you can uncheck the Forms box to permanently stop the generation of the search history, click OK.
Another option that works with any browser:
* Here is another way if you just want to clear the searches (and don't want to stop the generation of the search history) from the search box menu on Yahoo or Google pages, double click the search box, this will make a menu drop down with your searches, put your cursor on what you want to delete to highlight it, and hit the delete button on your keyboard. If you want to delete everything just hold the delete button down until everything is deleted.
* To clear searches on Yahoo Toolbar, click the pencil icon beside the search box, click Clear Recent Searches. If you want to stop saving recent searches, click Toolbar Options and uncheck "Enable Search History", or check "Auto-clear Search History when quitting IE" to clear history when you close your Internet connection.
* To clear searches on Google toolbar, click "Google" on the left of the search box, click Clear Search History. To stop saving searches click options, click search tab and check or uncheck to configure your search box.
* To clear history of sites you have visited on Internet Explorer 6 address bar, click Tools, Internet Options, under General tab click Clear History, you can also set the number of days to keep pages in history, click Apply and then click OK. You may also want to click the Content tab and click Auto Complete and check or uncheck your Auto Complete settings to your preference.
* To clear history of sites you have visited on Internet Explorer 7, go to Tools, Internet Options, General tab, under Browsing history you have the option to delete everything all at once with just one click, click Delete, a menu will pop up, click Delete all to clear everything, or choose what you want to delete, to stop saving history, under Browsing history click Settings and under History set Days to keep pages in history to 0, click OK.

Click on Tools. Then Internet Options. Then General and Clear History. You can change the days that your history is kept for and also if you want to clear your search bar to where it won't display last items searched you go to Content in Internet Options and click on Auto-Complete. Then choose clear forms and that will delete that for you.

Have a close look at the icons on the tool bar. Can you see a small black upside down triangle at the side of every icon, well if you click on it a drop down menu will appear with all sorts of things on it.
The one you want is on the left of the search box. look for options and personalize your tool bar.
you can also highlight the search and press delete on your keyboard.
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/toolbar/basics/toolbar-10.html
You can also go to tools>>internet options and delete cookies, temp files, and history.

You don't say what your PC system is?? But on mine, I right click on Internet Explorer. It'll bring up a tab, Left click on Properties, That will bring up another tab. (The one that has your home page listed on it) on it.
First click on on DELETE FILES, another little tab will come up, Click on REMOVE ALL TEMPORARY FILES AND COOKIES> Wait as it clears them.
On the large tab on the bottom, it says 'History' click on it, a tab will come up , click on CLEAR ALL HISTORY. Wait as it clears. close tab.
. I hope this information helps. I usually clear mine every time I am through with the PC, it makes the computer more efficient.
