Wow, it is fantastic... it blew my breath away. Creative architecture, huge buildings and interesting people. Amazing shopping experience and very different form normal cities. Clean and hot. It is well worth it.
Go for it. You will never be the same again. :-()

Yes I Live in Dubai and Dubai is rapidly developing, therefore the cost of living is increasing. Lots of innovative and tourist attracting projects are springing up in Dubai, they have created the biggest man made island in the shape of a palm tree, the tallest building, Burj Dubai, is under construction and would be ready in 2 years time, they are making the biggest park, the biggest Airport, the largest Mall, etc, they plan to Make Dubai a Tourist Paradise by 2010.
The only drawback is the weather, when its hot its blazing hot, Jun, July, Aug are the hottest, its often above 40 Degree Celsius. Other months are cooler. Best time for visiting is Nov – April.
Hotels and transportations are expensive for Tourists. Best is to find a local resident to show you around dubai to cut down the cost.

I live in Dubai now, it is a great place, not at all eastern, it looks like New york with it's high buildings, it has lovely beaches, great food, huge malls, the night life here is lovely, it is a very nice place to visit.

Dubai is a huge modern city with the best malls in the world. The people are friendly and the city is beautiful. You will love it.

I love it. I have been there quite a few times. It is pretty fun. Good night clubs and restaurants. The shopping is great. Check out Wild Wadi water park, that is a lot of fun.
