Absolutely - and genius casting. Since Hugh Laurie had often played terribly nice, dimwit, incredibly unsexy, aristo Englishmen (the apex of which was his Wooster), when they were looking for someone to play a misanthropic, attractive American genius doctor, I'm amazed his name came to the forefront of someone's mind. Glad it did, though.

Dr. House, he can be a jerk but he is always the one who figures out what is wrong with the patients. I also like how sarcastic he is.
