it varies from city to state to social economic circumstances, but in general people (not governments) for the most part are the same worldwide and possibly galaxy or universe wide, interesting thought isn't it !

I think you mean to ask: What are AMERICAN LIFE STYLES like? Or: Can anyone tell me about AMERICAN LIFESTYLES ? (There are many different life styles in AMERICA !!!)
AMERICA IS A WONDERFUL PLACE FOR THE MOST PART, BUT WE DO HAVE OUR SHARE OF PROBLEMS.
Most americans are literate (99%) -- unfortunately most of those 35 & under have poorer educations than past generations -- this is due to a "dumbing down" of our school systems in order to graduate a certain fragment of our population. This is already ruining our country in world affairs. We do not have FREE TUITION to UNIVERSITY as many First World Countries do, this also presnts a hardship for our country to keep up & we are slipping behind rapidly! We have some scholarships, but they don't usually pay much toward a 5 or 6 year University course! Grants are also available, but they carry interest, must be re-paid and with the very high cost of a DEGREE students find themselves DEEPLY in DEBT when they graduate!!! Entry level jobs for Graduates are not high pay, so new Grads suffer to get ahead. This is a HUGE MISTAKE by OUR GOVERNMENT!!! University SHOULD BE FREE to anyone who can pass the ENTRANCE EXAMS with at least a C GRADE (80%). THIS WOULD rebuild OUR COUNTRY !!!
What I've said may not be popular, but it's true.
Many Americans live in poverty, 50+ % have NO HEALTH CARE & NO HEALTH INSURANCE !!!!! Many must choose between eating & buying the medicine they need!
We still aren't safe from terrorists due to sloppy government boarder "protection" & allowing disidents through our ports of entry, etc. !!!
But we all feel tied to one another as a nation -- at least most of us do. We feel fairly safe wherever we go & we treat each other with respect -- for the most part. We LOVE OUR COUNTRY & EACH OTHER !!! And, contrary to what another writer said, it does not have to be innate -- these feeling of Unity can be learned.
Hope some of this helps you! If so, please VOTE ME (mine) as BEST ANSWER , as I tried to give you vital info and help you know us a bit better. THANKS, Barb
